What is a share?

2019 Main Season Harvest Shares are sold out! Fall shares are still available: Sign up here.

A share in the harvest of Tumbling Shoals Farm is a custom packed box of the absolute freshest, quality, certified organic fruits and vegetables delivered each week to locations in Hickory or Wilkes County or for pick up here at the farm in Millers Creek.

Your share is custom packed for you each week: you set your veggie preferences before the season begins and we create a box based on your preferences, and then you can still swap out veggies at will!  Our main season is 20 weeks with deliveries beginning the first week in May and running through mid September.

We have three share sizes available:

Extra-Large Share

$800/20-week season

This share is jam packed  fresh organic veggies each week.  If you eat almost strictly vegetables, or have a large veggie eating family, and almost never eat out, this could be the share for you.

Regular Share

$550/20-week season

This is for an average veggie eating family that does nearly all of their cooking at home. The two of us (not vegetarians) use up a regular share and more in our veggie-heavy household, with one meal out per week.

Small Share

$375/20-week season

This share is made for couples or small families that eat outside the home a bit.

Fall Share

$230/10-week season

This one size fits all share is slightly smaller than a regular share and slightly larger than a small share.

Your weekly share of the farm's produce will contain a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables grown organically on our farm. An example of a mid to late July regular share might be:

 •    2 slicing tomatoes
•    1 container salad mix
•    2 ounces basil
•    3 pounds potatoes
•    2 green peppers
•    1 pint okra
•    1 pound green beans
•    2 cucumbers

For more examples of what might be contained in a share at different times of the year, check out our frequently asked questions page! Remember that your box is created each week based on your personal preferences and you can still swap out items you more or less of!

Each week, we'll also provide you with our favorite seasonal recipes and an email newsletter so you can keep up with the happenings at the farm.  Check out our seasonal availability calendar to get an idea of what to expect.

Low income share support: you can help subsidize a low income share by kicking in an extra $20 with your registration!  That's $20, just once, and it can go a long way toward helping someone less fortunate access fresh local organic vegetables.

A harvest share is not right for everyone.  Please ask yourself these questions before signing up for a harvest share.
